'During the operations on morning of 11th August, 1918, against RAINECOURT, east of AMINES, Private HONEY displayed remarkable courage and gallantry when attacking enemy machine gun posts. During the move forward his company encountered a gully strongly held by the enemy. Private HONEY accompanied by a N.C.O. rushed three posts in succession killing several of the enemy and capturing 30 prisoners and 2 machine guns. On reaching the objective Private HONEY again took a foremost part in dealing with enemy opposition and was responsible for inflicting heavy casualties with his Lewis Gun on the retreating enemy.'
