Found guilty, Moascar, 20 December 1915, of being absent without leave from 1700 hours until 1930 hours: awarded 2 days' confined to camp. Promoted to Lance Corporal, Tel el Kebir, 12 February 1916. Admitted No 8 Field Ambulance, Ferry Post, 24 May 1916 (rheumatism); discharged and rejoined unit, 23 May 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 23 June 1916. Posted missing, 20 July 1916.
