Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry in action. After an enemy mine explosion causing casualties, he organized the rescue parties and led them up to the mine, thereby saving many lives. and performed valuable exploration work underground. He carried out this arduous and dangerous work continually for 24 hours.'
