Admitted to No 8 Field Hospital Serapeum, 6 February 1916 (orchitis); transferred to No 1 Casualty Clearing Station, Serapeum, 7 February 1916; to No 1 Australian Stationary Hospital, Ismailia, 7 February 1916 (parotitis); to base hospital per No 4 Base Hospital Train, 8 February 1916; admitted to No 4 Auxiliary Hospital, Abbassia, 8 February 1916 (mumps); discharged to duty, 29 February 1916, and marched in Overseas Base, Ghezireh; rejoined 31st Bn, Tel el Kebir, 5 March 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 16 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 23 June 1916. Posted missing, 20 July 1916.
