Military Medal 'At PERONNE during operations on 1st/2nd September 1918, for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Throughout the operations he displayed to a marked degree a fine quality of resource, judgement and daring. His sound leadership and coolness inspired his men and he was largely responsible for the success of the advance on the right flank of his Company.'
