Military Medal 'During the night attack on 28th/29th July 1918 astride the Bray-Corbie Road Private HYDE'S conduct and work was of the best quality. His coolness and courage while engaged in stretcher bearing was a fine example to all who saw him. Private HYDES' work was done most systematically and irrespective of personal danger, he was always found where most needed. Not only did he bandage and help carry the casualties of his own Company but when clear moved to flanks and assisted other Companies with their casualties also. During the operation he took a stretcher out into No Man's Land and though an exceptional barrage was down at the time attended to and helped to carry a wounded man back and had him safely removed to the relay carrying post. Private HYDES' work was worthy of the highest tradition and recognition.'
