'Throughout the intermittent fighting extending over six months, this N.C.O. has exceptionally good work to his credit. On 9th and 11th August 1918, in the attacks at FRAMERVILLE near AMIENS, he did excellent work, pushing his guns well forward into positions from which he kept down enemy Machine Guns and snipers. Throughout 11th August he held an isolated flank-position, using his guns with good effect. He brought an enemy motor lorry, which was making its escape, to a stand still. His work is always reliable and courageous.'
