Promoted Sergeant, Gallipoli, 28 April 1915.

Wounded in action, Vic Gully, 6 August 1915 (gun shot wound, head: severe), and admitted to 3rd Australian Field Ambulance; transferred to Malta on board HS 'Dunluce Castle', and disembarked, 12 August 1915, and admitted to Baviere Hospital (cerebral abscess).

Died of wounds, 13 August 1915.
