Military Medal 'For gallantry and devotion to duty. This N.C.O. was No. 1 of a Lewis Gun Team during the operations of 31st Sept. and 2nd Oct. '18, at Bony-Le Catelet. He worked his gun with great courage and skill in the operation, effectively silencing several enemy Machine Guns, and also assisted to knock out an enemy Field Gun.'
