Found guilty at Gallipoli, 6 August 1915, of not complying with an order: awarded 2 days' Field Punishment No 2.

Admitted to Australian Casualty Clearing Station, Gallipoli, 18 August 1915 (diarrhoea). Embarked Gallipoli on HS 'Ulysses', 18 August 1915; disembarked Alexandria, 25 August 1918, and admitted to 2nd General Hospital, Ghezirah; transferred to Mena House Convalescent Depot, 31 August 1915; to British Red Cross Convalescent Hospital, Montazah, 3 September 1915 (dysentry).

Found guilty, 6 October 1915, of (1) being absent without leave, 10.00 pm, 3 October to 11.40 pm, 3 October 1915, and (2) insolence to a superior officer: awarded 14 days' confinement to barracks.

Admitted to Reception Hospital, Alexandria, 9 October 1915 (gonorrhoea); discharged to duty, 13 November 1915 (total period of treatment for venereal disease: 36 days);. Commenced return to Australia on HT 'Berrima', 31 October 1917; disembarked Adelaide, 21 December 1917. Discharged on account of being medically unfit for continued service, Adelaide, 14 January 1918 (varicose veins and rheumatism).
