Wounded in action, 9 April 1917 (gun shot wound, left hand), and admitted to 3rd Field Ambulance; transferred to 3rd Casualty Clearing Station, 10 April 1917; to No 2 Convalescent Depot, Rouen, 11 April 1917; to England, 21 April 1917, and admitted to 3rd Southern General Hospital, Oxford, 23 April 1917; transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 7 May 1917 (bullet wound left hand, small finger: slight); discharged on furlough, 28 May 1917, to report to No 3 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 12 June 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 9 July 1917; rejoined Bn, in the field, 29 July 1917.

Detached for duty to 3rd Brigade, 24 January 1918.
