Military Medal 'Is recommended for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in action near HAMEL WOOD, east of CORBIE, on 4th July, 1918. This N.C.O. rendered great service during the operation in maintaining the communications with the Companies and Brigade. As soon as the Companies had reached the final objective he had visual stations established and was in close and continuous communication with them from then on. His coolness and bravery throughout had a most inspiring effect on the rest of the signallers.'
