'For consistently good work and devotion to duty from 25th February to 16th September, 1918, Sergeant JENKINS, as a cook and latter as Sergeant Cook, has stood out as an example to all ranks of wholehearted devotion to duty. His work as a cook has always been looked upon with admiration and under all conditions the men of his company have been well fed due largely to his own personal energy. As Sergeant Cook, his supervision and organisation have ensured that excellent meals were prepared and sent up hot to men in the line even under the most trying conditions.'
