Medals

Military Medal

'For brave courageous action during an attack on enemy trenches near MORLANCOURT on the night 5th/6th May, 1918. During the advance all N.C.O.s of his platoon, excepting himself, were made casualties. He at once assumed command and showed marked coolness and initiative in reorganising his platoon after reaching the final objective, and at once commencing the necessary consolidation of newly won position. Throughout the night he was of the greatest assistance to his Company Commander, his frequent situation reports being of much value.'
