'For devotion to duty during an attack on our lines near ALBERT on April 5th, 1918. This man showed great courage and coolness while attending to, and carrying in wounded under heavy shell fire. He worked continuously for 36 hours without a rest and was always ready to go out to bring in wounded no matter where they were.'
