Military Medal 'In the first stages of the attack on VILLE-SUR-ANCRE near ALBERT on 19th May, 1918, this N.C.O. was in charge of the flank of the advance. He saw an enemy gun crew rush into an emplacement with the evident intention of getting their gun into action. Without hesitation he rushed the post, shot one of the crew, forced two others to flee and captured the gun. His promptitude certainly saved his party from being held up and from becoming casualties. He then advanced with great dash and reached the objective with his party.'
