Allotted to and proceeded to 54th Bn from 5th Training Bn, Zeitoun, 14 February 1916; joined 54th Bn, Tel el Kebir, 16 February 1916.

Fell out of line en-route from Tel el Kebir to Ferry Post and transferred to 5th Division Details' Camp, 27 March 1916; admitted No 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Tel el Kebir, 27 February 1916 (sore feet); discharged, 29 March 1916; rejoined unit from 5th Division Details' Camp, Ferry Post, 8 April 1916.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 19 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 29 June 1916.

Wounded in action, 19/20 July 1916.

Now, 7 July 1916, reported 'Wounded and Missing, 19/20 July 1916'.

Court of Enquiry, held in the field, 4 August 1917, pronounced fate as 'Killed in Action, 19/20 July 1916'.
