Military Medal

'During the operations at HOOGE near YPRES on the 20th and 26th September, 1917, this N.C.O. was in charge of the ammunition supply from the Battery wagon lines to the Battery. This has meant very long hours, much exposure to shelling, and a large party of men and horses to handle under very trying circumstances. Sergeant JOHNSON has carried out his duties in a manner that cannot be recommended too highly, and by his sound judgment and coolness saved many casualties to the drivers.'
