Military Cross 'At Semakh, on 25th September 1918, he led the first line of half a squadron with great dash and judgment in the charg of the machine guns defending the town. His troops were the first to enter and pass through the twon, and reported that it was too strongly held in the station buildings to be captured mounted. he led the way in a bayonet charge on the west of the town, and by gallant leadership subdued the enemy who were fighting stubbornly.'
