Meritorious Service Medal 'From 25th February to 16th September, 1918, Sergeant BASNETT has rendered invaluable service to his Company in his capacity as Transport Sergeant. His great devotion to duty and untiring energy have inspired his men and been responsible for the high state of efficiency in the transport. Between 10th and 13th August, 1918, at LIHONS he personally conducted pack horses and ration limbers. On two occasions during hostile counter attacks he succeeded in maintaining supplies of S.A.A. etc. to the guns in the line. He has at all times displayed great courage and initiative under the most trying circumstances and his energy and cheerfulness have been a help to all.'
