Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On October 22nd 1917 when ammunition was urgently required by his Battery at TOKIO (East of YPRES) Driver W. JONES, who was engaged packing same, repeatedly went through the heavy hostile barrage and undeterred by the heavy fire and his horses being constantly bogged, stuck to his work until all his ammunition was delivered to the guns. The above gallant conduct is but characteristic of his sterling service throughout the whole of the operations from 10th September to October 25th 1917.'
