Meritorious Service Medal

'For conspicuous and consistent devotion to duty during period 17th September, 1918 to 31st December, 1918, rendering most valuable service to Battalion Headquarters while in the line. As Orderly Room Sergeant his work has always been of a very high order, and his work, particularly in the line and many times under adverse conditions has proved him an N.C.O. worthy of highest merit. His assistance has helped most materially and eased the strain on Headquarters Staff at critical periods. He has been indefatigable at all times.'
