Found guilty at sea, 17 December 1917, of (1) drunkenness, (2) creating a disturbance after lights out, (3) using obscene language, (4) insolence to a non-commissioned officer: awarded 21 days' detention. Disembarked Devonport, England, 27 December 1917, and marched into 13th Pioneer Training Battalion, Sutton Veny. Found guilty, 29 January 1918, of being absent without leave, 7.00 am, 16 January, to 10.00 pm, 23 January 1918 when apprehended by civil police: awarded 8 days' Field Punishment No 2; forfeited total of 31 days' pay. Marched into Pioneer Training Battalion, Sutton Veny, 2 March 1918, from Detention Barracks.
