Military Medal 'At POLYGON WOOD on 26/28th September 1917 after a all his senior platoon N.C.O's had become casualties this N.C.O. although the junior one of the Company, displayed such a high standard of leadership and tactical handling of men, that, within a few minutes of the capture of the final objective, his platoon had been effectively reorganised and consolidation commenced. For 2 days he commanded his platoon and never one was found wanting.'
