Proceeded from Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 4 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 11 June 1916. Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance in the field, 14 November 1916; transferred to 29th Field Ambulance (bronchitis), 18 November 1916. Embarked for England from Le Havre, 23 November 1916; admitted to 1st Southern General Hospital, 24 November 1916. Granted furlough, 8 January 1917, to report to Wareham, 23 January 1917. Marched in to No. 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 2 March 1917. Commenced return to Australia on board H.T. 'Barambah', 18 April 1917 (bronchitis and overage). Discharged, 20 June 1917.
