Military Medal 'During the attack on the BEAUREVOIR Line east of PERONNE, on 3rd October, 1918, a strong post was encountered by the platoon to which this man belonged. Private KERLIN rushed forward, leading his platoon in a most gallant manner, and assisting very largely in the capture of the post. Seeing some of the enemy getting away, he stood up in the open sniping them, causing many casualties. He remained there firing until severely wounded in the head.'
