Admitted to No 3 Australian General Hospital, Cairo, 6 August 1916 (pyrexia); transferred to British Red Cross Convalescent Hospital, Montazah 16 August 1916 (rheumatism); discharged to Abbassia, 8 September 1916. Attached for duty to Australian Base Post Office, Moascar, 2 april 1917.

Transferred to Australian Army Postal Corps, 31 May 1917; reported for duty to 2nd Light Horse Brigade Headquarters.

Admitted to 26th Stationary Hospital, Moascar, 5 June 1919 (no further details recorded).

Commenced return to Australia from Kantara on board HT 'Madrid', 27 June 1919; disembarked Sydney, 3 August 1919; discharged, 13 October 1919.
