Found guilty, 32nd Bn, Duntroon Plateau, 15 April 1916, of failing to appear at Orderly Room at 0345 hours; reprimanded. Found guilty, Ferry Post, 16 April 1916, of neglecting to see all kits in company lines were laid out as laid down by his commanding officer: admonished. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 23 June 1916. Posted missing, 20 July 1916. Posted as missing for three months and struck off strength, 20 October 1916. 'List of British Dead - Disc handed to German authorities from N.O.A.O.K.6, forwarded by Comite International de la Croix Rouge at Geneva to H.M. Minister at Berne'; Assistant Adjutant General ruled, 3 October 1916, to be reported as killed in action, 20 July 1916. Translation of an undated German message states, 'Identity disc handed over by Intell: Officer of 6th Army Hd. Qrs. 17/8/16.
