Military Medal 'Near ZONNEBEKE, East of YPRES, 24/28th October 1917, Corp. KITTSON was in charge of a very exposed post in the front line. His post was very heavily shelled and finally blown in, and all except two of his men became casualties. Though practically without cover he proceeded to reconstruct his post, on several occasions he was partly buried and badly shaken by shells but he stuck to his post and kept it in a condition of defence until the Bn. was relieved. His courage and endurance set a splended example to his men.'
