The disturbance aroused the remainder of the garrison who immediately attacked Private KNIGHT. With great coolness he shot the foremost of the party and effected his escape into the wheat field. From this position he gain opened fire on the enemy and then returned to our line. He showed a fine spirit of courage and initiative.'
