Military Medal 'Location, MOUQUET FARM. This man was the first to enter strong point 27 on the night of 27th/28th August, 1916, and showed great bravery in leading a party to attempt to repell the heavy counter attack launched by the enemy a few minutes afterwards. He was the last man to leave the position after the remainder had been drawn off. Under heavy shell fire he then dressed the wounds of an Officer, and carried him to a place of safety.'
