Military Medal

'Showed great skill, and daring while in action near ZONNEBEKE on 26th September, 1917. He handled his Section very ably on several occasions during the attack and proved himself a leader of high standard. He was wounded during the early stages of the attack, but remained on duty, and did most excellent work in the reorganisation and consolidation, always cheerful and hardworking throughout, and inspired all the men around him.'
