'For continued and devoted service as C.Q.M.S. during the period 25th February 1918 to 16th September 1918. he has at all times cheerfully carried out his duties in an efficient manner. During the advance from VILLERS-BRETONNEUX to PERONNE, 8th August - 1st September, the Company was frequently working in small parties at long distances from company headquarters, but in spite of all difficulties the men were all supplied with their daily rations. Recently, with the frequent moves, the efficient work done by the Company has been largely due to his personal supervision.'
