Military Medal 'Near WARNETON on the morning of 22nd March, 1918, the enemy after putting down a severe bombardment raided our front line posts. This N.C.O. called for volunteers and pushed forward from the Support Line rapidly, to give assistance. On arriving in the vicinity of the Front Line Posts he discovered a party of the enemy returning to their lines and rushing forward to the enemy wire attacked them and succeeded in rescuing one of our men who had been taken prisoner and captured his escourt and took them back to our line. Sergeant LAMONT then returned to "No Man's Land" to try and discover any more of the enemy but was unsuccessful. He however searched the bodies of several enemy dead for identifications. This N.C.O. showed great dash and initiative of a fine order.'
