Military Medal 'During the preparations fro and the offensive operations against the Hindenburg Line in the neighbourhood of BELLICOURT, he was employed in pioneer water supply in opening wells and preparing same for use, close behind the front line, and , in the villages captured from the enemy. Although 75% of his section had to leave off through being gassed this N.C.O. stuck to his work and under heavy fire. Working constantly near the front line he has by his courage and coolness carried many jobs to a successful conclusion.'
