Military Medal 'In the advance on 9th August 1918 near RAINECOURT east of AMIENS, for conspicuous gallantry in taking his Lewis gun forward under very heavy machine gun and artillery fire after the rest of his crew had become casualties and preventing the enemy from carrying out a flanking movement. This N.C.O. showed absolute disregard of danger throughout the operation.'
