'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On 29th October, 1917, whilst delivering ammunition to Batteries in the vicinity of ZONNEBEKE (east of YPRES) the party was heavily shelled. Notwithstanding, Driver LEESON, at great personal risk, succeeded in getting his team through the barrage and delivered the urgently required ammunition safely to its destination.'
