Statement, 560 Pte W. ANDERSON, 25th Bn, 21 August 1916: 'I saw these three men [LINDSAY, 1888 Pte H.T. BOSTOCK; 685 Pte A. MORRISON] lying dead between the lines. We could not get into the German trench when we made the charge, as the wire was not cut, and so these men were lying out. I saw Pte Bostock killed and he was shot somewhere in the back. We threwhim over the top of the trench we were digging at the time. The other two were quite dead when I saw them. This was on Friday, a fortnight ago yesterday, Augusy 4th, at Pozieres. The shelling was terrible and I do not think they would have been seen again.'
