Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 30 April 1915.

Admitted to 16th Casualty Clearing Station, 22 May 1915 (piles; transferred to No 2 General Hospital, Ghezireh, 27 May 1915; discharged to duty, 29 June 1915.

Medical Report, 31 March 1916: 'Had severe attack of piles. They burst and gangrene set in. Had to be operated on board ship. Trouble with leg started after that.'

Unofficially reported to be Storeman with one of the training bns, Zeitoun, 20 January 1916.

Admitted to No 1 Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 1 April 1916 (paralysis of leg).
