War service: Egypt, Western Front Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 20 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 30 June 1916. Proceeded to unit from 5th Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 31 August 1916; taken on strength of 32nd Bn, in the field, 5 September 1916. Evacuated to hospital, 1 November 1916; admitted to Corps Rest Station from No 5 Field Ambulance, 3 November 1916 (influenza); rejoined unit, 8 November 1916.
