Military Cross 'During the period 29th September, 1st October 1918, against the enemy positions near Bellicourt, he showed excellent and fearless leaderhip of his company. He obtained the assistance of two tanks, and, in the face of heavy machine gun fire, succeeded in clearing the enemy from the trenches. His company assisted in clearing Magny la Fosse and then reached their final objective for the day being only one of two companies to do so.'
