Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry as forward observation officer during an attack. He accompanied the infantry in the advance, and succeeded in establishing and maintaining telephonic communication with his battery. At one time he daringly pushed forward well in advance of the infantry, to observe. He successfully fired on several targets, greatly helping the advance, and sent back much valuable information.'
