Military Medal 'On 4th October, 1917, at BROODSEINDE this man was wounded through the shoulder on the J.O.T. in spite of which he moved forward with the attack with the Company. Upon his portion of the line being held up by an enemy post he threw a bomb which accounted for the crew of a machine gun, remainder of the garrison immediately surrendered. He remained on duty until late unto the night when ordered to the dressing station. His endurance and bravery set a fine example to the other men of the Company.'
