Military Medal

'For consistently good service during the period 16th September, 1918, to 11th November, 1918. This N.C.O. has been with his battalion in every engagement in which it has taken part. He also was a Scout for six months. During the whole period he has been most conspicuous for his unselfish devotion to duty and total disregard of danger. As a Platoon Sergeant, his first thought was for his men and he never spared himself. His examples and energy have always encouraged his men and those around him.'
