Military Medal 'During minor operations on 18th September, 1918, against enemy post at R.2.b.8.5, South of JEANCOURT, L/Cpl. MARTIN showed exceptional courage and dash. When his Platoon was held up, he led his bombing team forward under cover of the Lewis Gun and bombed and entered the enemy post, materially assisting in the killing and capture of the garrison. L/Cpl. MARTIN's work throughout the period was of an exceptionally high order and his conduct at all times is an inspiring example to his section.'
