Wounded in action, 20 July 1916 (gun shot wound, left leg), and admitted to 8th Field Ambulance, and transferred to 2nd Casualty Clearing Station; to 8th Stationary Hospital, Wimereux, 21 July 1916; transferred to England, 25 July 1916, and admitted to St Luke's War Hospital, Halifax, 26 July 1916; transferred to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 29 August 1916; discharged to No 1 Command Depot, Perham Downs, 31 August 1916.
