Military Medal 'During the attack on the BEAUREVOIR Line, east of PERONNE, on 3rd October, 1918, this N.C.O.'s platoon met with strong resistance at MUSHROOM QUARRY. He was in charge of a Lewis gun section, and alone crawled through the enemy wire with his gun and outflanked the enemy post. He kept up a heavy fire on the post while the remainder of the platoon got through the wire and captured the post. It was a most difficult and dangerous task that this N.C.O. accomplished on his own initiative, and through his action undoubtedly many casualties were saved '
