Meritorious Service Medal 'For conspicuous devotion to duty. This N.C.O. has had long good service with the Unit and has been Company storeman. During the operations on 18th September, 1918, at HARGICOURT he was acting C.Q.M.S. and it was owing to his untiring efforts that the members of his Company were well provided with rations during a critical period. He personally saw that the rations were available in the line. His record is a most excellent one.'
