Military Cross

'He was in charge of a forward section near Mazingheim on the 19th and 20th October 1918. He pushed his section forward and established communications, and did a good deal of useful shooting. He kept the rest of the battery advised of the tactical situation until their telephonic communication was established. on 23rd October 1918, he led the battery into action and again did excellent work under very heavy fire. His gallantry and able leadership was most marked.'
