Medals |
Military Medal 'During the attack at HERLEVILLE, East of AMINES, on 18th August, 1918, when the leading wave reached the objective this man was one of the first to enter the enemy trench. Under exceptionally heavy fire he sprang out into the open and bayoneted three enemy Machine Gunners in succession. During the mopping up he organised and led small parties of the men near him and cleaned up, the enemy shelters and bivouacs along the trench. Throughout the whole day this man carried out splendid work inspiring his comrades and rendering valuable assistance to his officers.'
